How do Bocas residents handle garbage?

Garbage is collected only in Bocas town on Colon Island and Bastimentos Island. Municipality garbage trucks collect recyclables such as glass, aluminum, and plastics and take them off the island to be recycled.  The rest can be buried in a landfill or burned. Residents of other islands are invited to drop off recyclable materials during a visit to Bocas town.
